Scanning Barcodes

Scanning a barcode is the fastest way to check a packaged product.

Scan a barcode

1. Open the scanner from the Scan button in the navigation.
2. Allow camera access the first time you are asked.
3. Point your camera at the barcode until it lines up in the frame.
4. Read the Verdict when it appears: CLEARED or FLAGGED.

Chomply looks up the product, reads its ingredient list, and checks it against your Avoidances.

If a barcode will not scan

• Steady your hand and make sure the barcode is well lit.
• Try photo scanning instead, which reads the printed ingredient list directly.
• Enter the ingredients by hand if the product is not in any database yet.
