Household vs Per-Member Checks
Published 19 July 2026 · 7 views
One scan can check a product for your whole household, or just for one person. Both give you the same kind of answer.
Every family member has their own Avoidances: the ingredients each person needs to steer clear of. A Scan compares a product against those lists and returns a Verdict, CLEARED or FLAGGED, for whoever you are checking.
Checking the whole household
By default, a Scan checks a product against everyone's Avoidances combined. After the Verdict, Chomply shows a per-member breakdown, so you can see exactly who a flagged ingredient affects and who is in the clear.
- The product is FLAGGED if it matches any member's Avoidances.
- Each person gets their own row, with their own CLEARED or FLAGGED result.
Checking one member
You can also focus on a single family member. The Scan then reports against that person's Avoidances alone, so the Verdict reflects only their needs.
Which should I use
- Pick the household check when you are shopping for the family and want to catch anything that affects anyone.
- Pick one member when you are buying for that person only, like a lunchbox or a treat, and nobody else's list matters.
A FLAGGED Verdict for the household does not mean the product is off-limits for everyone. Open the breakdown to see who it affects.
