Creating Custom Recipes
Published 19 July 2026 · 6 views
Add your own recipe on Pro and Chomply checks it against your Avoidances, just like the library.
An Avoidance is an ingredient or allergen you have asked Chomply to watch for. Pro is Chomply's paid plan, and creating recipes is a Pro feature.
Add a recipe by hand
- Open Recipes, then tap Create your own.
- Enter a Name for the dish.
- Choose a Category from the list.
- List each ingredient on its own row, with an optional Note for amounts.
- Tap Add ingredient for another row, one line per ingredient.
- Write the steps in the Instructions box.
- Add a cover image if you like. This part is optional.
- Tap Save recipe.
Import from a link
- Paste a recipe URL into the Import box at the top of the page.
- Tap Import to pull in the name, ingredients, and steps.
- Review the details, fix anything that came across wrong, then save.
Read the Verdict
Once saved, Chomply reads your ingredient list against every household member's Avoidances and shows who is Cleared and who is Flagged. If a Verdict looks off, ask Sage, the in-app help assistant, which ingredient matched and why.
The check is only as good as your ingredient list. Spell items out in full so nothing is missed.
