What is Chomply?

Published 19 July 2026 · 6 views

Chomply checks whether a packaged food matches the ingredients you need to avoid, in seconds.

You tell Chomply what to steer clear of. We call each one an Avoidance: an ingredient, allergen, or additive you want to watch for. When you scan a product, Chomply reads its ingredient list and compares it against your Avoidances.

The result is a Verdict:

  • CLEARED means nothing in the ingredients matched an Avoidance.
  • FLAGGED means at least one ingredient matched, and Chomply shows you exactly which one.

What you can do

  • Scan a barcode, a photo of a label, or type ingredients in by hand.
  • Build a profile for each family member, so one scan can check the whole household.
  • Ask Sage, the in-app support assistant, when you are not sure how something works.

Chomply helps you shop with confidence. It does not give medical advice, and a Verdict is a check against your list, not a safety guarantee. When in doubt, read the label and talk to your doctor.
