Managing Family Member Avoidances

Published 19 July 2026 · 7 views

Every person in your family can have their own Avoidances: the ingredients, allergens, or additives you want to watch for. You attach them to one member at a time.

Add an Avoidance to a member

  1. Open My Family from the navigation.
  2. Select the parent or child you want to update.
  3. Select Add avoidance on their profile.
  4. Enter the name, then pick a type and severity.
  5. Save to attach it to that person only.

The Avoidance now belongs to that member. It does not affect anyone else in the family.

Scan for one person or the whole household

A scan checks a product against your Avoidances. When you scan for your family, Chomply checks it against every member at once, then shows a Verdict for each person:

  • CLEARED means nothing matched that member's Avoidances.
  • FLAGGED means at least one ingredient did, and Chomply shows you which.

To focus on one person, open their profile from My Family. There you see just their Avoidances and their Verdict history.

One scan, one answer per person. That is how a shared shop stays simple.
