Verifying Products

Published 19 July 2026 · 6 views

Verifying a product means checking that its ingredient list matches the real packaging, so you can trust the result you get.

Chomply reads ingredient data from outside databases. That data is usually right, but it can be incomplete or out of date. A Verdict (the CLEARED or FLAGGED result of a scan) is only as good as the ingredients behind it, so a quick check matters.

Check at scan time

When you scan a label, Chomply shows you the ingredients it read before it judges.

  1. Read the list against the packet in your hand.
  2. Select Looks right, check it when they match.
  3. Photograph the label again if they do not match, so Chomply reads the correct one.

Suggest a correction

If a product's saved ingredients are wrong, you can fix them for everyone.

  1. Open the product.
  2. Select Suggest a correction.
  3. Copy the ingredient list exactly as printed on the packaging.
  4. Submit it.

A moderator reviews your change, and once it is approved that becomes the verified list.

Always check the physical packaging before you rely on a Verdict. Recipes change, and the label in your hand is the final word.
