The Unified Avoidances System
Published 19 July 2026 · 6 views
You keep one list of Avoidances per person, and every scan in Chomply checks against that same list.
An Avoidance is an ingredient, allergen, or additive you have told Chomply to watch for.
One list, everywhere
Your Avoidances live in one place. When you scan a barcode, scan a label, or type ingredients in by hand, Chomply checks the same list every time. It uses that list on product pages and in household scans too.
Each Verdict (the CLEARED or FLAGGED result of a scan) comes from this one list. There is nothing else to keep in sync. Change the list once, and the next scan uses the update straight away.
Manage your Avoidances
- Open Avoidances from the navigation.
- Add an ingredient, then set its type and how strict you need to be about it.
- Edit or remove any Avoidance whenever your needs change.
You can also add a diet pack to load many related Avoidances at once.
Everyone has their own list
Each family member keeps their own Avoidances. A household scan checks each person's list, so one scan can show who is CLEARED and who is FLAGGED.
Update your Avoidances the moment something changes. Every scan after that uses the new list.
