Using Passkeys

Published 19 July 2026 · 6 views

A passkey is a passwordless sign-in tied to your device, using your fingerprint, face, or screen PIN. In Chomply it is an extra factor on top of your password, never a replacement for it.

Add a passkey

  1. Open Settings and find the Passkeys card under Security.
  2. Select Add a passkey.
  3. Name it something you will recognise, such as your laptop or phone.
  4. Confirm your password to prove it is you.
  5. Save it, then follow your device prompt to use your fingerprint, face, or PIN.

Your passkey now shows in the list, along with when you added it and last used it.

Remove a passkey

  • Open the Passkeys card in Settings.
  • Find the passkey you no longer want.
  • Select Remove next to it.

Remove one right away if you lose the device it lives on.

Good to know

A passkey adds security, it does not stand in for your password. You still keep and use your password to sign in, with the passkey as a second, device-bound factor. Add one on each device you trust.

Passkeys never leave your device. Chomply only stores a reference to yours, never your fingerprint or face data itself.
